(Keeping Your Geppetto Land playhouse safe, strong & magical for many years) ✨
To ensure your new handmade playhouse stays in excellent condition, please follow these important care guidelines:
1. Anchoring & Stability
Your playhouse must remain securely anchored at all times. Strong winds, storms or unusual weather conditions can affect any outdoor structure. Customers are responsible for checking stability regularly and ensuring the playhouse stays firmly fixed to the ground.
2. Weather Protection – Painting or Varnishing
Timber is a natural material and needs protection. You must paint or varnish the entire playhouse within 2–3 months after installation to protect it from moisture, sun and weather changes. Failure to seal the wood may lead to movement, cracking, swelling or reduced durability.
3. Annual Maintenance
Once a year, we recommend:
Touching up paint/varnish if needed
Checking screws, bolts and fixings
Inspecting the base and anchors
Ensuring no ground movement occurred under the structure
This keeps the playhouse strong and safe for your children.
4. Safety Checks
Please inspect your playhouse regularly, especially after storms or strong winds:
Make sure it stands level
Ensure all posts, rails and accessories are secure
Verify swings and slides are functioning properly
If something appears loose or unusual, stop using the playhouse until checked.
5. Natural Wood Behaviour
Wood is a living, breathing material. Some small cracks, movement, knots or colour changes are normal and not defects. This is part of the charm of natural Scandinavian spruce and does not affect the strength of the structure.
6. Customer Responsibility
Geppetto Land builds and installs every structure with care. Once installation is completed, the customer is responsible for:
Ongoing maintenance
Weather protection (painting/varnishing on time)
Securing the playhouse in case of strong wind warnings
Ensuring the location remains safe and stable
Improper maintenance or allowing wind to move the structure is not considered a manufacturing or installation fault.
7. Magic Tip From Geppetto ✨
To keep the playhouse looking new and fairy-tale beautiful:
Add a fresh coat of paint every 1–2 years
Keep the area around the playhouse clear of tall grass and moisture
Check the roof felt once a year and replace if damaged
Your little ones will enjoy a safe and magical playhouse for many years!
